Do you love animals? Are the kids asking you for a pet but you are reluctant to commit? Consider becoming a Science Center Weekend Animal Volunteer. You and your child/ren will get to experience a room full of exotic animals to love, nurture and feed. Science Center staffers will train you on proper care, feeding and socializing techniques. You can choose to schedule as many weekends as you like.
Most families finish feeding our entire menagerie in 1.5 hours.

Weekends and School Breaks
Take an animal home over a long weekend or school break (contact the Science Center as early as possible to ensure that you get your first choice animal visitor)

Volunteer Gatherings
                                                        alice's tea party1

Once a month the Science Center will put out the call for a group of volunteers to come help us. We need people who can measure, cut, count, paste, and don't mind getting a little messy. The tasks are easy, and we're happy to bribe you with munchies. We meet at the Science Center (Newman School) on the first Thursday of each month between 10am and noon. If you want to join the party, feel free to call the Science Center at 781 455-0475 or send us your email.

Our next adult volunteer gathering:
  TBA
at the Science Center. The tasks will likely involve cutting and sorting. Snacks provided.  Bring a friend if you'd like. If you're new to the Science Center, feel free to contact us - we're always happy to welcome new volunteers.

Summer Animal Care
When the Science Center Closes for the Summer, our live animals need somewhere to go. We will provide you with printed care instructions, a cage, initial food supply, and emergency contact information. Animals go to homes on a first come, first serve basis. Interested?  Call the
Science Center at 781-455-0475.
