Needham Public Schools Special Education Child Find Notice
Under federal and state special education regulations, it is the responsibility of the Needham Public Schools to identify any child ages 3 through 21 who may have a disability and who is either a resident of Needham or who attends a private school within Needham. This also includes children who reside in Needham who are homeschooled, as well as children ages 3 through 21 who are not yet enrolled in school.
Needham Public Schools is also responsible for the evaluation of those children to determine if they are eligible for special education or related services under federal and state law.
Needham Public Schools is committed to identifying children before their third birthday to provide early intervention services for three and four-year-olds with disabilities. If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's development and would like to have your child screened, please contact the Needham Preschool at 781-455-0416 ext. 55133.
If you suspect that your child may need an evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services, you may request an evaluation, at no cost, through the Special Education Office.
